Shuxuan's Bedroom
let me dream for a little longer...

Think it was 4am on a Monday morning, the memories of that realm starts staggering back at me.

The road intertwined its way, searching for a destination. Yet it was kind enough to guide me to places I've never seen before.

A sudden darkness.

Along with the never-ending chants, I've entered many temples. Pitied those statues who were once God, who are now simply just ordinary objects, waiting to be discovered again.

Paused. Darkness.

I, standing still in front of that empty, void stage, vaguely feeling its liveliness from its other reality. Singing and waving body movements to express their rock and roll attitude, as well as spirits. An era within another.

Who am I waiting for? Will I be the one sitting on this dusty old chair? Vintage? I call it aesthetics. Who awaits for my arrival, leaving its thrown for me?

Where are you taking me?

The Buddha, soundly in her sleep, who does she await? I? A traveller from another timeline? Perhaps I am the one invading her dreams... In the end, is this dream, the reality I am searching for?

Will I see you again? Maybe, another time, in the future or the past.

Inspired from the pictures I've taken in Yulin, I've created four paintings illustrated from the photograph. They seem similar, but different in colours and aesthetics. They are in the same location, but different space. A space that could be in the present, future or past, a space from the next or previous life, a space from the alternate reality.
